About Me
Hilary Fosdal
I am a runner.
I am also the Interactive Content Manager for Barrington Broadcasting Group located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. I work in the Barrington Interactive division and run the day-to-day online news operations and long-term digital media strategies for the company's 21 television stations that are based in 15 markets throughout the nation.
My list of things runners need to live:
#1 Oxygen
#2 Running
#3 Food
#4 Job
In my opinion, #2 & #4 are interchangeable. But not #3. If you are a runner, Food owns the #3 spot.
I named my blog Running for Food because runners love food. My R4F program is a simple way for runners to donate non-perishable goods without stealing time away from their training - I encourage you to take the time to check it out.
What you'll find on my blog:
- Never Run Alone - an athlete's beginner's guide on how to create brand: YOU
- running to further the sport
- running to feed the hungry
- the joys of running with gadgets
- running to learn yoga/cross-training/weight training
- Backpacked across 49 different countries and 6 continents (most recently - Iceland and Mexico). Places I recommend travellers visit: Tibet, Argentina and Peru.
- Jumped the world’s longest natural bunjee jump in the world – Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe
- Avoid caffeine whenever possible, which is why taking any form of caffeine during a run feels like sucking down a humanized form of jet pack fuel!
- DJ’ed jazz music at WRCU 90.1FM while attending Colgate University and still love listening to Nina Simone.
- Lived in China 中国 – specifically in Chengdu 成都, Shanghai 上海 and Beijing 北京.
- Favorite recovery food is chocolate milk.
